90 Day Fiancé icons Jenny and Sumit have lied and manipulated in the past, and fans are begging them to take accountability for their mistakes.

Now that they’re featured on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season seven, fans are talking about Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh, and viewers are sick of the couple avoiding responsibility. The franchise alums have struggled to be accepted by Sumit’s family, but fans feel that they are ignoring their own faults while they fight for their relationship. If they are going to succeed in their marriage, viewers think that they need to apologize for their past mistakes.

Jenny and Sumit were first featured in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season one, when Jenny moved to India. The couple has a 30-year age difference, and they met over Facebook, when Sumit catfished Jenny by using a fake name and photos. After he shared his actual identity, Jenny decided that she wanted to be with him anyway, and went to India in order to meet him in person. Jenny stayed with Sumit’s family under false pretenses, while forming a romantic relationship with Sumit. After their romance was revealed, Sumit’s parents could never approve of their son’s relationship, and they didn’t like the age gap, either. They’ve overcome many obstacles in their path (including Sumit secretly getting into an arranged marriage), and the pair finally married, but the problems in their relationship persisted.

In the first two episodes of HEA? season seven, the couple finally sat down with Sumit’s parents, to tell them they got married without their consent or knowledge. This led to Sumit’s mother disowning him; after hurling several insults at Jenny, Sumit’s family left. The couple fought afterward, as neither party felt supported by the other during the tense situation. A Redditor, joaaaaaannnofdarc, started discussing Jenny and Sumit’s relationship, wondering when either of them would accept that they aren’t perfect people, instead of blaming others for their current predicament. The Reddit user wished that they know if Jenny had ever apologized to Sumit’s family (especially his mother) for deceiving them the first time that they met.

Jenny stayed with Sumit’s parents for four months when she first went to India, claiming to be Sumit’s platonic Facebook friend, who wanted to learn about Indian culture. Jenny and Sumit’s mom Sadhna became close friends, but Sadhna had no idea that Jenny was sleeping with her 25-year-old son under her own roof. While Jenny sees Sadhna as evil for not supporting her son’s love and happiness with Jenny, fans feel Jenny has not made an effort to understand how she hurt Sadhna with her lies and manipulation. Other fans chimed in, commenting on how predatory Jenny appeared to be, by seemingly manipulating her way into such a young man’s bed. However, some viewers came to her defense, pointing out that both were adults, and felt that it was none of his parent’s business who he was sleeping with.

Other viewers believed that Sumit was also to blame for the problems in their relationship. He began by lying to Jenny about who he was, and kept their relationship secret from his family. He also hid his marriage from Jenny in order to manipulate her into coming to India to be with him. After his parents paid for an expensive divorce, he chose to marry Jenny without telling them, and expected to be accepted into the family anyway.

While fans are definitely saddened by Sumit’s family disowning him, and hope that the couple can find happiness going forward, they cannot condone a relationship built on lies. In order to move forward, fans feel that Sumit and Jenny must own up to their own dishonesty. Viewers will have to keep up with 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 7 to find out what happens to them.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.
