Another week, another handful of TV shows and movies of choice for all of you. It’s light, but we’ll just name it Quality > Quantity. The selections below may range from the standout to the frivolous fun, but that’s exactly how we like to spend our weekend getaways, isn’t it? There is David Leach Express trainAnd, to be fair, I recommend this mostly because the beautifully hilarious chemistry of Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry is surprisingly fun. Oh, and I can’t forget that it’s Bad Bunny’s first balanced thriller. (You know he’s going to get some theater seat butts.) And there are even more exciting new choices, like a new season of booking dogs (woo!) And the appearance of a file predator Movie. Here are the options:
Express train It has it all: a huge action set, hilarious vignettes, Tarantino-esque memories, quiet dialogue, great music, and a stacked cast with Brad Pitt in the middle. Not all of that is necessarily bundled into a tight, first-class click, but Express train Still a fun trip.
Why victim It’s not releasing in theaters far from me, but that means Hulu subscribers will get a buzzing new movie release in their living rooms this weekend. prequel to predator Movies victim It follows the fearsome alien’s arrival on Earth in the 1700’s, which means there is no technology or weapons to fight the advanced being. This brilliant premise alone is enough to set the clock on fire, but pairing it with Amber Midthunder’s performance as Naru, a young Comanche woman fighting to be seen as more in her community, and director Dan Trachtenberg, is sheer tension. 10 Cloverfield Lane, We are ready. Hulu even provides (a) Comanche dub from the movie.
The movie that inspired many on Twitter introduced Alana Haim to the general public as an actress, and it hits Amazon Prime Video (the movie was previously only available on VOD platforms). Haim plays Alana Kane, a young man in his twenties who meets young Gary Valentine (played by magician Cooper Hoffman), an enthusiastic business teenager, in the 1970s, San Fernando Valley. It’s one of Paul Thomas Anderson’s most tender films, as it plays with Alana’s desire to relive the radiant sense of childhood and Gary’s desperate need for adult independence.
There is a level of comfort in booking dogs It makes it tempting to just sit back and forget everything else around you. The story of four young children striving for something more is very touching, funny and at times sad. After the events of season one, in which self-proclaimed confinement dogs lose one of their friends, Elora (Devery Jacobs), to a rival gang member when they hit the road to lure California, the rest of the kids are left to pick up the pieces in Oklahoma.
oh, hypnotic. Based on Neil Gaiman’s epic graphic novel, Netflix’s latest attempt at building a franchise series is an intriguing one. Is Gaiman’s work translated correctly on screen (apart from Coraline, This is it)? Now, I don’t know if I found hypnotic Necessarily gripping, but I didn’t like it. (I know, low bar). I also know devout fans will want to check this out for themselves. So will hypnotic is being the witcherLike a hit, or you’ll be lost in the dark void of Netflix’s endless queue. Only time will prove it.
