90 Day Fiancé Fans Call Out Paul Staehle For Cultural Appropriation

90 Day Fiancé fans are calling out Paul Staehle for posting an offensive video on his Instagram, where he mimics the Amazonian tribes of Brazil.

90 Day Fiancé star Paul Staehle is being called out by fans for cultural appropriation, after he posted an offensive video on his Instagram story. Paul first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days seasons 1 and 2, with his ex Karina Staehle. Paul traveled to Brazil to meet Karine, and the couple decided to get engaged and eventually got married in Brazil. The couple later welcomed their first son Pierre, when Paul moved to Brazil during 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 1.

Paul and Karine later returned for 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 5, where they moved to the United States with Pierre. Paul and Karine settled down in Paul’s home state of Kentucky, and later had a second son named Ethan. Unfortunately for Paul and Karine, their relationship ended in 2019 after they could not come to an agreement on how to make their marriage work. Paul and Karine decided to share custody of both Pierre and Ethan. However, the two currently do not have their children, who are now in the custody of Child Protective Services. While Karine seems determined to do everything she must to gain access to her kids again, Paul’s behavior has been much more concerning.

After Paul posted an offensive story on his Instagram account, 90 Day Fiancé fans were quick to call him out. In the videos, Paul is seen dressed as a member of an Amazonian tribe, completely decked out in body paint, along with traditional Amazonian cloths, jewelry and a large feather crown. In the series of stories, Paul runs through the woods on a small wooden path with a bow and arrow in hand. The video is extremely problematic, as he has minimized a unique and complex culture by turning it into a punchline for a silly social media video.

Reddit user VeterinarianMedium72 reposted the video from Paul’s story, writing that the video was “so unbelievably offensive.” Fans in the comments quickly began to call Paul out for offending the indigenous Brazilian tribes that he was imitating, adding that he was incredibly immature. Other commenters felt that this was just a failed attempt from Paul to stay relevant, as he is no longer a cast member of any 90 Day Fiancé series.

When it comes to the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, Paul is known to be one of the most controversial cast members of all time. Paul’s relationship with Karine was extremely toxic and at times even borderline abusive. Paul also has a lengthy criminal past, as he was convicted of felony arson and even served jail time for the offense. Most recently, Paul was accused of kidnapping his son Pierre, although Paul later returned with Pierre claiming the two were just on a short trip. When Paul is involved with something, it is always likely to be chaotic.
